After a directorial hiatus of over three years, cinematic genius Karan Johar is back to enthral audiences with his latest flick Ae Dil Hai Mushkil starring Aishwarya Rai, Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma. Also, supporting them is much loved Pakistani actor Fawad Khan.
A story about love, Karan Johar explores the complexities of changing relationships through the journey of two characters – Alizeh and Ayaan – as they navigate friendships, heartbreat and love – often together and sometimes apart.
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, whose last outing Sarabjit left everyone teary-eyed, essays the role of Saba – a poet – mysterious and sensitive in equal measure. Ranbir Kapoor plays the role of Ayaan – a straight edged, preppy boy, with no remarkable experience in love or heartbreak, but has a desire to sing. Anushka Sharma, who has had a great year with Sultan, portrays Alizeh – a fiercely independent girl – charming and funny with a deep rooted sense of love and relationships.
Shot in the picturesque locales of Vienna and London, the film’s music has been greatly appreciated by viewers, with the songs topping the charts. Composed by Pritam, the music is a classic example of how new age Indian film music has refreshingly metamorphosed from traditional rhythms to deliver an album that resonates with every listener. It’s soulful, soothing and captivating.
Produced by Dharma Productions, the film releases in cinemas worldwide on October 28 – this Diwali – through Fox Star Studios.
