INDIA BAZAAR
Britain’s
largest social group for first generation migrant women in the UK –
Indian Ladies in UK (ILUK) - is marking
its remarkable growth with its first major public event – the India
Bazaar, set to be held in the heart of London on 15 October.
India Bazaar will be a day of fun activities with cultural performances and cuisine representing India’s different
states. Members of the 16,000-strong ILUK will put on a string of cultural performances both professional and amateur.
India
Bazaar will also showcase the story of Ramayana with a cast – for the
first time ever – made up exclusively
of women. The act is being choreographed by Bhagyalakshmi of Bhagya lakshmi's academy for performing arts There will be a dance workshop by Sumeet’s Step 2 Step Dance Academy and an arts and craft workshop conducted by Komal Hoskoti who
runs workshops for kids in East London area by the name of Different
Strokes.
The Magic of India will be doing some creative exercises with the kids. They run Hindi speaking and classes on Indian
culture in Swiss Cottage.
The
festive season is upon us with Navratri, Karvachauth, Dusshera, Diwali
falling one after the other, a season
when the whole family in particular women and children like to dress
up. Keeping that in mind we will have Henna artists Usha Virdi, Chitra
Hedge and Daksha Parmar decorating your hands with beautiful designs. We
will also have our celebrity Make up Artist
and Hair Stylist Dimps Singhania teaching you tips and tricks about how
to do the perfect make up and show some nice hair styles one can easily
do at home.
Mitali Mehta's cute face painting designs are going to keep the kids entertained and happy!
There will be an Ayurveda Doctor who will be talking about the benefits of Ayurveda. Sheetal's stall will have all the funky stationary and candies for the kids. How can any event be fun without balloons, candies, coloring for the kids?
The
men’s area of interest is usually on the food so we have made sure you
have plenty to enjoy from the states
you come from and the states you have only heard about. From Punjab ki
Chole Bhatoore to Uttarpradesh ki Chat From Goan Fish to Gujarati
thepla we will have everything to keep your taste buds occupied.
There will be approximately 40 stalls selling Jewellery from Rajasthan, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Bengal, clothes including
Kurtas, Lehenga Choli, Sarees from various states, handicrafts, home decor, spiritual goods all under one roof.
We will have some specialists like Pooja Gadoo who will be promoting the IT skills for 11+kids where you can enroll them to learn Java and C++ in a fun and interactive way from a very young age.
Her daughter Kashmea Wahi scored 162 in her Mensa test recently and was in the news all over the world.
We have arranged a special PHOTO BOOTH where you can take pictures for free and take a memory of you attending the
India Bazaar with you.
All in all INDIA BAZAAR promises to be a fun and interactive event for the entire family.
